We describe the boundary integral equation formulation of static linear elasticity as well as the related Boundary Element Method (BEM) discretization technique.

Its supernodal Cholesky factorization relies on LAPACK and the Level-3 BLAS, and obtains a substantial fraction of the peak performance of the BLAS. CHOLMOD is written in ANSI/ISO C, with both C and MATLAB TM interfaces. [1] apply the "kernel trick" to obtain a non-linear variant of Fisher's linear discriminant analysis method, demonstrating state-of-the-art performance on a range of benchmark datasets.
